J.G Stock, is an U.K Born, Melbourne based contemporary Visual Artist.

“I make paintings (oil, acrylic, watercolours) that use satire to comment on the absurdity of modern life. By appropriating imagery from a variety of sources and reassigning them (often in ridiculous ways), I utilize misleading cultural signposts to pull back the veneer of disproportionate power and wealth structures.

Throughout my 35 years practice, I have used a variety of devices and motifs – military hardware in idyllic landscapes – earth moving equipment dismantling cultural icons -combining dark humor with politics as a reaction to force fed popular culture through mainstream mass distribution.”
